The Badner Bahn is the only private, completely electrified twin track railroad in Austria. On the route Vienna - Baden - Vienna, it is partly operated as a tramway on public transit infrastructure and partly as a railroad on its own tracks on the overland section of the line. The total track length is 30.4 km (18.9 miles) with an additional 5.6 km (3.5 miles) of servicing and connecting tracks. Around 40% of all occupational commuters around the south of vienna daily use the WLB and use it to Vienna and back.
Beside the railroad system, WLB operates a big fleet of buses in the Vienna area.
All the trams and buses are equipped with TETRA terminals. The eXTRAS infrastructure includes about 8 base stations, a switch, dispatchers, gateway to PSTN, NMS and SUM.
